Last Night in Carcosa

From DoctorCthulhupunk

This larp had a really simple system, and one of the player had brought masks for anyone who didn't have any. There was a nominal plot. Heck, on paper, Last Night in Carcosa is a typical political larp with a system for figuring out who wins at the end. But, as anyone familiar with the source material knows, this winning thing is irrelevant. It's whatever one calls Illusionism -- the illusion that what the players and pcs do matter -- when all of the players know exactly how the game is rigged, and they're all fine with that? We were there to be doomed, plain and simple.

The character sheets were excellent, 1 sheet per character, summing up the character’s goals and listing every character with a one sentence description. I had a nice mask on a stick, which I'd picked up at DexCon. I quickly learned that this was a Good Thing, as the people with the gorgeous masks on their faces were very hot. I played the astrologer, Rigel. The man playing the other active member of my conspiracy was very good. He wrote from memory Cassilda's song from the Chambers King in Yellow and created poetry on the spot.
