A note tabbed up on a sketch left on an easel that Vito made of the glorious Siam sunsets -

Your sacrifice let others make art, Like I did here. If the King came, I wouldn't have been able to do this. Remember that! Your sacrifice served art! It wasn't selfish!

The King, he doesn't understand art, not like we do. He's crazy.

Thank you for watching over me, little girl.

Mrs. Quarrie,

I hope this note finds you well.

I need to consult with you about another issue. I know it's been years since the whole thing in Wales, but I need to know more about gods, and how to properly approach and avoid them. I'd rather do without them, they're a pain in the ass, but, hey, you know how it goes.

Also, I think I took interest in you when I first saw your eyes. I know, years later, right? Well, we were busy saving the world.

After I stop by Ethiopia with my crew, I hope I can come up by you and spend a week or two. That's if I'm still alive.

Also, to be clear - I have no room in my heart for any gods. Your goddess saw to that. I hope that doesn't make me persona non grata to you.

Be well.

(A note to Father Brannagh)

Mike,

Thanks for watching over Julia and the kids. Like you said, I've been keeping over the phone with them. Because of this war I'm involved in, I'm feeling removed from them, but I can't let this life hurt them. Funny thing is that I took them for granted before this all started. What's ironic is that I find that I love them more than I ever did - I took them for granted before England.

Anyway, if you can make sure that my letters keep making it into the safe deposit, I'd be grateful. And for God's sake, DO NOT OPEN ANY OF THEM. As per my will, only my son Vincent gets access to those notes. If you open any of that stuff, Mike, I will do you - and not because I hate you or you'll find evidence of any crimes. It's because I love you and I don't want you to become tainted by any of this shit I am involved in.

Thank you for being a great priest and listening.

Here's a check for $1000, use it to feed people. Compassion is what makes us human, you know.

Be good,

V
