New page

GM: John Farish

Markus Siebler: Johnny Redtail

Nicole (???): Gabriella Vasquez

Michael O'Neill: One-legged "Cade", sawbones

Me: Silas Turner, Huckster

Ben Morgan: Dr. Aaron Kaolan, Mad Scientist

John Reddy: Django Mancone

This was a fairly straightforward pulp adventure. As I told John, when I sign up for one of his games, I know what I'm getting, and I know I'll have a good, solid game. Bennie chips flowed a little like fan mail in Primetime Adventures, which may have been a house rule, but meant we felt able to be Cool and Pulp.

The PCs were on there way to the Town of Repentance. There were attacks by creatures on the way. Later, at the inn, there was an attack by a creature that killed a great hunter NPC.

Someone: All these gunshots through him --

Me: But, he's dead?

Someone: Take a bennie.

Someone: What happened to Jones?

Django: I think he lost his head. (Yes, literally)

GM: Toss him a bennie.

Bartender: So... who's going to pay for that room there?

As I recall, two brothers had been caught in a cave in, and both had turned into something else. I think it was a wendigo. The original idea was that one had died, and perhaps been eaten by his brother, but the GM's notes had a provision for what to do if the PCs killed the monster too early. That was that both brothers had survived, and both were wendigo, although the surviving brother didn't know it. Both were dealt with, the first lethally. I think the second may have been killed as well, but I don't recall.

Out of Context Quotes I Wrote Down:

Doc: I'll go in! As long as he goes in first!

GM: Make a Notice roll at -2.

Player: -1 - It's cuz I'm behind him. He's just too big.

Someone: You need to practice with that leg a little more.

Django: Looks like a job for you, Doc.

Doc: I ain't cleaning this up!

Someone: And then we took his head.

Someone else: You stay away. I think I'm going to go with _you_. You're sane.

Dr. Kaolan: You need a mad scientist. I'll wait.

Bartender: I want to know who's going to pay for this wall.

Me: Doc have any next of kin?

GM: No.

Me: I go over to his house, get any money there, and bring it to the bartender.

Player: Well, here's the question. What's the tallest building in town, and can I get up there?

GM: The bell tower on top of the church is a whole three stories. But, here's the question. What can you see from up there?

Gabriella: I jump on his [the wendigo's] back and put a bullet in his head.

I tossed her a bennie for sheer coolness. The GM agreed, though he did consider it two actions.

Doc: I was saving this for a rainy day, but -- Throw the nitro!

Someone: It's medicinal!

Doc: Take your medicine!

Mad Scientist's player throws him a bennie.

Gabriella: What a ride! Can I do that again?

Silas (about Dr. Kaolan): He's starting to make a breakthrough to real magic!

GM: Oh! Them's fighting words!

Dr. Kaolan (drawing himself up): I am visibly offended! (thawing slightly) But thank you.
